Crossfit

The CrossFit program is the main focus of the classes and covers all aspects of strength and conditioning providing a varied and challenging workout every session. CrossFit is described as constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity with the stated goal of improving fitness, which is defined as “work capacity across broad time and modal domains”. By having a constantly varied program we challenge and improve our members general physical preparedness (GPP) and their ability to tackle any physical challenge.

The daily crossfit classes are an hour long and will usually consist of a warm and stretching phase, a skill session and the daily Workout of the Day (WOD). The WODs are typically short – 20 minutes or less – and intense, demanding all-out physical exertion. They combine movements such as running, sprinting, rowing, skipping, jumping, climbing rope, weightlifting, and carrying objects; they use barbells, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars, medicine balls, and many bodyweight exercises. These elements are mixed in numerous combinations to form WODs.

kettlebells class

Kettlebells

Kettlebell training will sculpt your body giving you lean muscles, stamina, endurance, strength and flexibility without bulking up. Join our kettlebell classes to perform explosive routines that will give you incredible results. During our kettlebell classes varying weights of kettlebells are used to perform ballistic exercises that combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training

The workouts performed with kettlebells are extremely challenging and develop strength through the legs, hips, core, shoulders and grip strength. Bodyweight exercises are also used during these classes to ensure a complete full body workout is achieved.

olympic lifting class

Olympic Lifting

The Olympic lifting class is an auxillary class to the main CrossFit program. This teaches the two Olympic lifts (‘Snatch’ ‘Clean and Jerk’) and various assistance exercises

The Olympic Lifting class focuses on teaching proper lifting technique whilst also aiming to increase the weights lifted.
